Rogue supercar drivers on a borough cruise were caught by police response and vehicles were seized

ROADS Policing Unit officers operating in Thurrock last night seized nine supercars that were causing danger and disruption on local roads.
Multiple reports about anti-social driving were made to the Essex Police control room around 7pm last night (Thursday, 21 August) with callers and motorists saying the cars, which included a Rolls Royce, McLaren and an Audi R8 were being driver recklessly and were stopping the progression of traffic.
Other vehicles in the group included a Porsche and a Lamborghini which were on local roads, including the A13. Among the activities of the thrill-seeking rougue drivers was break-checking, which put other road users at risk.
The drivers stopped to film themselves, standing on the A128 slip road at the Orsett Cock roundabout.

Members of the roads policing team responded quickly and all nine cars were seized.
Superintendent Phil Stinger said: "This must have been quite a sight with their hazard lights flashing and speeding dangerously one minute then slowing abruptly.
"Their driving was not only erratic, but selfish. The level of danger involved was astounding.
"Thankfully, our roads policing officers brought the situation to a safe conclusion very quickly and no one was hurt – just their wallets!"
All nine cars were seized under Section 59 of the Road Traffic Act which gives police the power to seize a vehicle being driven anti-socially thereby causing alarm, distress, or annoyance to other road users.
