DENEHOLM Primary School in Grays, a member of the South West Essex Community Education Trust, has been celebrating an Ofsted inspection outcome that it remains a 'Good' school.

The report highlights many strengths at the school including that "Pupils at Deneholm are confident, happy and proud of their school."

It's been just over five years since Deneholm Primary School was last inspected, and rated 'good'.

Ofsted inspectors visited the school recently and their report says: " Pupils respond well to staff's high expectations. They understand the importance of working hard and trying their best. The school is aspirational for pupils, enabling them to have a wide and rich set of experiences alongside the broad curriculum."

And that: "Pupils are well cared for and feel safe."

The work that Deneholm Primary School does to ensure that children are respectful of diverse communities was also celebrated with inspectors saying: "Pupils understand that differences should be celebrated and that we should all be treated in the same way."

The only area for improvement highlighted by inspectors is that "The school needs to ensure that curriculum plans in each subject identify precisely the knowledge and vocabulary that pupils must learnand support teachers to plan learning activities."

Executive Head Teacher, Ms Christina Pumfrey said: "We are delighted that the inspection report identifies the hard work that all of our stakeholders – pupils, parents and staff – do to make Deneholm and very happy and successful school."
