CONCERNED parents of children attending Hassenbrook Academy have been reassured by the school that children who misbehave across the wider community will still be dealt with by the school.

Last week a number of parents of children and residents expressed their concern following anti-social behaviour by some Hassenbrook students, and expressed particular concern about an incident in which a girl was reported to be the victim of bullying and aggressive action from some other students.

A statement from the school says: "Our students were spoken to and sanctions issued this week in relation to inappropriate behaviour outside of school and in the community. We will continue to work with students on the importance of respecting each other and members of our community.

"As always, we value the support of our parents in these matters. We also appreciate any incidents or concerns being reported to the school reception and we will ensure that any issues or difficulties are followed up by the appropriate member of staff.
