DESPITE efforts by Thurrock council to place security officers on their waste bag collection points, piles of rubbish the borough have grown overnight.

Last evening Thurrock Nub News reported on an initiative by Thurrock Council to try and stop people dumping waste at the collection points, which are only supposed to be open in the daytime when they are manned by workers and trucks, but reports have reached us this morning that the rubbish continues to rise.

Patrols were supposed to be in place overnight to stop additional dumping but as our reader-submitted picture at Blackshots shows, it wasn't that effective.
