THURROCK Council has confirmed it is now looking at the cost of improvements works to a troublesome borough junction, though no provisional decisions will be made until the new year and it's unlikely that any work will take place until the new financial year, starting next April.
Last week Thurrock Nub News reported that borough MP Jen Craft had been notified the council would be responding positively to requests by her and residents for work at the junction of Bradleigh Avenue, Connaught Avenue and Long Lane in Grays, which has been the scene of many accidents.

In the report which said the council had now identified the junction for probable inclusion in its next Local Intervention Programme, Mrs Craft, who raised the issue in September, said the junction is now being reviewed for possible safety improvements after being provisionally added to the council's next Local Intervention Programme to consider safety improvements.
Now Cllr Alan Benson, council deputy leader and cabinet member for Transport and Highways has confirmed the authority's intent, saying: "We are actively exploring options for potential improvements at the Bradleigh Avenue/Connaught Avenue junction.
"No scheme or funding has been confirmed at this stage, with any proposals subject to consideration as part of the 2027/28 Capital Programme, which is due to go to Cabinet early in the new year."
