Updated: Serious collision blocks main road in Tilbury. Woman take to hospital

ST CHAD'S Road in Tilbury was closed this evening (Sunday, 15 June) while emergency services dealt with what appears to be a two vehicle, high speed collision.
Police and ambulance services were in attendance, though what injuries - if any - were sustained by occupants of the two vehicles has not been disclosed.
Both vehicles in the collision have suffered significant damage and ended up around 50 yards apart, with debris strewn across the road.
It is not known when the road will reopen and it was still closed, pending recovery of the vehicles, at 7pm.
East of England Ambulance service said: "We were called at 5.31pm with reports of a collision in St Chad's Road, Tilbury.
"We sent one ambulance and took a woman to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further care."
A statement from Essex Police said: "We were called shortly before 5.40pm on Sunday 15 June to reports of a two-vehicle collision in St Chad's Road, Tilbury.
"While no serious injuries were reported, a significant road closure was put in place to clear debris and make the road safe."
