HALLOWEEN is almost upon us and you can catch up with many of the events taking place on our What's On pages.
Across the borough hundreds have people have been working hard to make the event special, but few have been busier that Grays resident Brian Squance.
Over recent week's, ahead of a big annual gathering at his home on Whitmore Avenue in Stifford Clays tomorrow (Friday, 31 October) Brian and friends have been taking a set of skeletons around the region, asking for donations to the Brain Tumour Charity
Brian explains: "It's in memory of my brother Chris who was always a joker. We decided to have fun at Halloween and raise money for the charity that provided support for the family when Chris died at the young age of 26 from a brain tumour.
"We are most grateful for any support that local communities are able to give us in memory of Chris though the Chris Squance memorial fund.

"The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, it aims to find new treatments, offering the high level of support and drive urgent change.

"For the two weeks before Halloween we have a selection of skeletons in our front garden in doing random things and they have also been on trips out and about.
"This all leads up to the big night when we have activities and treats for everyone, last year we had more than 450 kiddies turn up.
"We do a relaxed SEN night the night before (this evening) for anyone who finds the actual night too overwhelming. Our local community are amazing and really get behind the skeletons and their antics. "
