AFTER a number of streets were left out of Thurrock Council's regular waste collecting rounds on Friday, the authority has asked residents to put their bins out on Monday (25 May), despite it being a bank holiday.

A statement from the council says: "Nine streets in Grays have not had their general waste collected and 39 streets in Aveley, Chafford Hundred and Grays have not had their recycling collected.

"Please leave the appropriate bins outside on Monday, 25 May for crews."

The council has not given a reason for the delay.

Some brown bins kitchen and garden waste bins that should have been collected in the week were also not collected but council teams were optimistic they would have caught up with that backlog by this evening (Saturday, 23 May).
