Historic milestone for Thames Park

By Nub News Reporter 21st Aug 2025

THERE were momentous celebrations at Thames Park secondary in Grays today (Thursday, 22 August) where the school' first cohort of students received their GCSE results.

Head Sam Dyer said: "I am absolutely thrilled to share that our students have achieved exceptional outcomes, with Grade 4 and Grade 5 results in English and Maths significantly above national averages.

"These results are a testament to the unwavering dedication, resilience, and ambition of our students, and the tireless commitment of all our staff, with many other subjects also celebrating huge success.

"Over the past five years, we have watched this cohort grow into confident, capable young people, ready to take on the world.

"Their journey has been one of perseverance, progress, and pride, and today we celebrate not just their grades, but the character and determination that brought them here.

"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of our staff. Your solidarity, professionalism, and belief in our students have made this day possible.

"You have gone above and beyond, working together to create a culture of high expectations, support, and care. It is because of you that Thames Park has reached this incredible milestone.

"We are incredibly proud of all of our students, however there were some stand out performances with Abraham Afifi, Souzan Alidadi, Alex Finch-Keran, Brandon Fraser, Miriam Ibiayo and Banmeet Singh achieving a collective 43 grades 8 and 9 between them.

"Banmeet actually achieved 7 grade 9s on his own! They have all worked so hard and demonstrated self-help and self-responsibility, two of our core values.

"To the Class of 2025 — congratulations! We are so proud of you. It has been a lovely morning sharing your celebrations.

"As you move on to the next phase of your education, we wish you every success and happiness. You will always be part of the Thames Park family, and we cannot wait to see all that you go on to achieve.

"Here's to many more years of success and celebration!
