Stab victim's death is announced - many tributes on social media

THE death of a much-loved man who was the victim of a stabbing attack in Tilbury has been announced.

Many tributes have been paid on social media following the passing of Craig 'Noggo' North who has been in hospital following the attack on Sunday, 2 January in which Mr North received multiple stab wounds.

A 19-year-old from Tilbury has been charged in connection with the assault.

Darnel Curtin, 19, of Chesterton Way has been remanded in custody since a appearance at Southend Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 6 January. He is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 3 February.

A police statement says: "The investigation into the incident is now a homicide enquiry."

Detective Inspector Julie Gowen, who is leading the investigaton, said: "I want to express our condolences to the man's family at this incredibly difficult time.

"Our investigation into this incident is progressing well but still need anyone who we've not spoken to who saw anything, or has any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage, or any other information to come forward."
