Stan's final journey

By Neil Speight 18th Sep 2023

THE funeral and interment took place this morning of local fundraiser Stan Wall.

A service was held at St John's Church, Tilbury, where Stan's cortege was accompanied by local bikers acting as outriders and wearing the colours and flags of Help for Heroes, for whom Stan raised more than £170,000.

He was later laid to rest at Chadwell St Mary cemetery.

A collection for Help the Heroes was taken and people can still contribute via this fundraising page. https://herofunds.helpforheroes.org.uk/in-memory/Stan-the-man. More than £1,000 has already been raised.

The Ensign Bus Company is to name one of its vehicles after Stan and a naming ceremony will take place in Chadwell St Mary in the near future. Nub News hopes to be able to share details of the event shortly.
