RESIDENTS in Grays have rallied together to set up a street-long spectacle of Christmas lights to celebrate the season and help Treetops School.

This evening (Sunday, 6 December) Father Christmas arrived at Rushley Close in Blackshots where residents gathered in their gardens to mark the switch on of their communal lights display.

After a countdown led by Santa all the houses in the street were lit up and a firework display followed.

The residents of Rushley Close, who raised £300 this evening, would welcome visitors to the road to admire the lights and donations can be made at various points on the close which will add to the tally for Treetops.
