MEMBERS of the Communications Workers Union mounted a picket line close to the Grays Royal Mail sorting office off Hogg Lane today as part of the second day of their industrial action.

Royal Mail staff have already had a one day strike prior to today - and another two day walk-out is planned next week.

Workers are seeking improvements to their pay and conditions and assurances that the Royal Mail's future will be secure.

They fear a sell off of parts of ht ebusinesses will see a loss of jobs and a significant decline in the standards of the service.

Thurrock Nub News visited the picket line and spoke to some of the striking workers. See video.
