THURROCK Adult Community College (TACC) recently held a very successful Careers Day event, for their learners and partners at their centre in Richmond Road, Grays.

Throughout the day, learners attended a variety of free workshops delivered by a Google Digital Garage specialist.

Also well attended were sessions with the National Careers Service and Anglia Ruskin University, with the college's Health & Social Care learners already signing up to continue their studies in Higher Education once achieving on their current courses at the community college.

The day was very positive with excellent feedback received on how useful it was including the 'I Am Remarkable' interactive session where one male learner spoke about how "I am on a journey of self-discovery".

Many also found the CV writing informative and helpful saying "we were given great advice on how to improve our CVs, making sure we use key words. I now know that a CV can go through filters and is not automatically read by a person so it is crucial to get the right words in there!"

Learners from TACC's Apprenticeship programmes, Counselling, Health & Social Care and ESOL courses plus many more had a chance to work together and get an insight into other programmes the college offers.

The college is planning on running another Careers Day later in 2020. Discover adult learning in Thurrock to learn, grow and shape your future. Find out more about the college and book courses online via the red button below.
