DP World, operator of London Gateway port in Thurrock, has won the 'Port Company of the Year' award for the second year in a row at the 2024 Multimodal awards event in Birmingham.

The award was presented to DP World following another milestone year for the logistics business.

The highlights for DP World in 2024 include the completion of the soon-to-be-opened £350m new fourth berth at London Gateway, the pioneering Modal Shift Programme trial at Southampton, which has so far saved customers and supply chain partners 6,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide, and both of its logistics hubs going fossil-diesel free following an operational switch to hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO).

Ernst Schulze, UK Chief Executive of DP World, said: "DP World is strongly committed to being the most efficient and sustainable logistics company in the UK, and winning 'Port Company of the Year' for the second year in a row is testament to the hard work our teams at London Gateway and Southampton have done to make that happen.
