TWO young Thurrock scouts turned into online salespeople today as they hosted a fundraising event for the 1st Corringham Scout group.

Hermione Baker, 11, and sister Natalia, 9, went live from their home in St James Avenue on Facebook (Click this link to view) this morning (Friday, 15 May to sell a range of items including umbrellas, clothing and shoes.

All the proceeds will go to the scout group which is seeking to rebuild its headquarters at Tindall Lodge on Herd Lane in Corringham.

Normal fundraising activities for the group have been stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic, including the annual summer fete which is a big money-spinner.

Mum Annette said: "I'm so super proud of what Hermione and Natalia have set up to achieve for all those kids that love a summer fete but are unable to go due to the circumstances around us.

"When they heard of the difficulties the scouts have had with the rebuilding of their hall and how they are going to need more funds to help, they jumped straight in with this fab idea."

Anyone wishing to buy any of the articles can contact Annette and the girls via messenger or the https://www.facebook.com/1stCorringhamScouts/ [L+]scouts' Facebook page.[.L]

Annette expressed her thanks to all who have helped, particularly her friend Vikki Keys who donated many of the items that the girls put up for sale with their enthusiastic patter!
