Teen boy from Grays arrested after cop stop

A FIFTEEN-year-old Grays boy is one of three people arrested in connection with a robbery.

They were arrested following reports that they attempted to break into containers on farmland in Stock.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, theft of a car and driving without insurance or a licence.

A 21-year-old man from Grays and a 17-year-old man from Basildon were also arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.

A police statement said: "We stopped a vehicle in Lodge Lane, Grays at around 9.50pm on Thursday 9 July in connection with an attempted burglary in Stock at around 6.30pm that day.

"We seized bolt croppers and screwdrivers from within the vehicle.

"While in custody, an officer reported that the man made comments towards him and he was further arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated intentional harassment.

"They have all been released under investigation."
