'The Few' remembered at Purfleet event

PURFLEET Heritage & Military Centre will be hosting a 'Battle of Britain' event at the centre on Centurion Way later this month.

It will take place on Sunday, 25 September - when the centre will be open from 10am to 3.30pm. 

Admission is £3 for adults, £2.50 for OAPS and  £1.50 for children.

The event will also commemorate the 60th anniversary of the closure of RAF Hornchurch. There will be a photographic display and a book signing by Richard C. Smith who hass just published his latest work - 'Hornchurch's Fallen Few'.

The 'The Spitfire Society'  will also be making a presentation.
