A THURROCK couple have told their story, highlighting the first year of recovery after 45-year old Phil Burgess suffered a stroke.

In a series of four videos, promoted by Thurrock Healthwatch, Phil describes how he suffered the stroke after returning home from a shift at work.

Phil relates how the past year, which involved him learning to walk on his own and speak, has gone.

His partner Sarah Mynott shares the video and the couple recall their journey since that fateful day last year, express their thanks to the teams of people have supported then and  look to a continued recovery programme.

The videos, part of a stroke awareness campaign, can be viewed via this link.
