POLICE have shared details of how an incident in South Ockendon led to three arrests.

It happened on Tuesday when community policing team officers responded to intelligence suggesting a vehicle, a silver Toyota Auris, had been seen to park at Ockendon Recreation ground and three male occupants had been acting suspiciously in the wooded area nearby.

Officers attended and located the vehicle which was unoccupied at the time.

The officers searched the area and located a tent set up in the field with two males inside.

One of the males was wanted for offences including two thefts, two burglaries, while the other was wanted for failing to appear for possession of an offensive weapon and burglary, plus a breach of court order. Both were arrested and taken to custody.

On the officers' return to the location they saw a male near to the Toyota and on seeing the officers he threw something and made an attempt to hide near to some containers.

A search of the male found a bag containing several other small bags of cannabis.

Keys to the Toyota were also found on his person. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle where several other small cannabis bags were found hidden inside.

The manwas arrested on suspicion of possession with Intent to supply and the vehicle was seized for being used in crime.
