Three Thurrock men held after early morning incident at leisure park

TWO men from Grays and one from Tilbury have been arrested in connection with an incident at Festival Leisure Park in Basildon in the early hours of this morning.

Detectives are appealing for information after woman was hit by a car.

At around 2.35am today (Saturday 4 September) it was reported that a car driving dangerously in the car park had hit a woman in her 20s.

The driver failed to stop at the scene.

Officers conducted a search of the surrounding areas and identified the car believed to have been involved travelling along the A13. The car was stopped within 30 minutes of the initial report and all three occupants were arrested.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are described as not life-threatening or life-changing.

Two men from Grays, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old, and a 20-year-old man from Tilbury were all arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. They remain in custody.
