Thurrock election results by ward: Orsett, Horndon & Bulphan. Massive margins of victory for Reform in Orsett

In a massive turnout of more than 50 per cent, Reform recorded a stunning win in previous Tory stronghold Orsett.

Bill Cook topped the poll with 1,451 votes and Steve Taylor was narrowly behind on 1,411.

Sitting councillors, Tories David Day and Barry Johnson, were more than 900 votes behind. Political newcomer Jack Speight stood as an independent and beat Labour and the Greens by a margin of more than 100 votes.

David Day (Conservative) - 550

Carlos Diaz (Labour) - 231

Daniel David Fallows (Green) - 234

Barry William Johnson (Conservative) - 510
