CHILDREN from Stanford-le-Hope's Arthur Bugler Primary School and South Ockendon's Dulles Academy took to the Towngate Theatre stage in Basildon as part of the annual Sing for St Luke's competition.

Eight schools from across Basildon and Thurrock took to the stage in a bid to win £500 for their school!

A total of 270 children aged 7-11 years took part in the competition and performed in front of judges and a sold-out audience. All funds raised from the event went to support St Luke's Hospice who help the local community.

During the event, Arthur Bugler Primary performed Wonder by Emeli Sande and then provided a fabulously energetic routine to the classic, Walking on Sunshine with the addition of balloons!

At the end of the evening the winners were Greensted Juniors from Basildon.

The other schools that took part were: Northlands Primary School, St Anne Line Junior School, Whitmore Primary School, Bardfield Academy and St Margaret's Church of England School.

Congratulations to every child that represented their school superbly!
