A THURROCK store is helping disadvantaged members of the borough community by hosting a charity Christmas gift tree.

The Dunelm store at West Thurrock Way is closed for in-store shopping but still open for pick-ups.

And shoppers are being invited to pick up a tag from the store's Christmas Tree. Each tag represents a member of the local community, so you can choose who will receive your gift.

You are then asked to take a shoe box (if you don't have one the store will provide one) and fill it with goods to the value of at least ten pounds and return it to the store and it will then be delivered to the recipient.

Recipients have been selected from local care homes, primary schools and refuges in Thurrock.

All the goods will be sanitised before being carefully and safely gift-wrapped.
