Thurrock tally of infection up by 14 as police praise residents for staying safe at Easter


THURROCK's number of recorded coronavirus cases rose by 14 in the latest figures published by Public Health England.
The tally of infected local people, on a day when the UK figure rocketed to 84,279 cases, is 186.
Nationally there have now been 10,612 deaths. As the coronavirus lockdown continues, Essex Police have thanked people for staying at home so far this Easter. The force has posted a series of photographs showing empty beaches, including a shot of a deserted Southend Promenade.
