Tilbury's commemorative Windrush walkway features in sports documentary

THE Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories which commemorates the arrival of the MV Windrush at the port will be featured on a documentary on TV this evening (Tuesday 28 September).

BT Sport will be showing a new documentary showcasing the Windrush football story as

Standing Firm: Football's Windrush Story premieres tonight on at 10.30pm.

The documentary features an interview at the art installation created by artist EVEWRIGHT, talking about the art and sound commemorative walk he has produced and it includes interviews with a host of black football legends celebrating the legacy of the Windrush generation.

The walkway will also feature heavily in commemorations of Black History Month, which starts on Friday (1 October).

It will host tours, video screenings and a round up of other activities.
