THE latest meeting of a group that promotes and rewards innovation and enterprise in Thurrock will take place later this week.

Since 2016 Thurrock Soup has been hosting a series of events for people who've had a business idea that benefits the local community.

The name came because at the meetings - described ' fun, casual evenings' - attendees are invited to share a bowl of soup while they pitch their idea. The cost of the soup is pooled and the person who a vote on the evening comes up with the best idea, gets the pot of money to use towards their idea!

One of the most recent winners was Claire Prosho, who received £250 for her social enterprise 'Claire's Trans Talk'.

However, the project name as now changed and the scheme is now called Pitch!

The next meeting will take place at the Waves restaurant at South Essex College, Grays, at 7pm on Thursday, 4 November.
