Time to stop dumping in the town say councillors who call on minority in local community to improve their act

TWO of Tilbury's recently-elected Reform councillors have called on the town's community to take more pride in the local area and to stop dumping rubbish.
Cllrs Shirley Bartlett and Bailey Scott, who represent Tilbury and St Chads ward, say there is 'no excuse' for local people fouling their own doorsteps.
They have produced a gallery of pictures illustrating the extent of fly-tipping and dumping in the town and have delivered a message to the offenders.
In a statement on their Facebook page the duo say: "These photographs show rubbish that has been dumped in our community by a small number of people who have chosen not to dispose of their waste responsibly.
"There is simply no excuse for treating our streets, green spaces and neighbourhoods this way.
Every bag, mattress, item of furniture and piece of rubbish left behind has to be cleaned up at a cost to all of us as taxpayers.
"To the vast majority of residents who take pride in our area and dispose of their waste properly – thank you. You should not have to put up with this.
"We hope that anyone responsible for dumping rubbish like this takes a long, hard look at the impact their actions have on their neighbours and on the place we all call home. Our community deserves better.
"If you witness fly-tipping or have information about those responsible, please report it through the appropriate council channels so that action can be taken.
"Let's work together to keep our area clean, safe and something we can all be proud of."
