Timetable set for Purfleet's regeneration - 2,850 new homes by 2032

By Neil Speight 20th Apr 2021

A TIMESCALE for the regeneration of Purfleet-on-Thames has now been submitted to Thurrock Council as part of the planning permission granted last year.

The redevelopment of the town by the Purfleet Centre Regeneration Ltd is already underway with a small housing development just started on the Cromwell House car park and it is anticipated that by June 2027 the first 1,000 homes will have been completed.

And by the end of December 2032 the whole of the new housing, 2,850 units, should have been delivered.

The town's new medical centre, details of which were reported in a recent Thurrock Nub News story, should be delivered prior to the occupation of the 300th home or 31 December 2022, whichever is the later.

And a new primary school should also be done by the time the 300th home is occupied of the start of the 2023/24 academic year.

Other landmark developments that should be completed during the project include a new bridge on London Road, cycleways, a new river wall and creation of open space and play areas.
