THE latest gathering of Thurrock Re-engage group members took place at Tesco, Lakeside, at the weekend where visitors and volunteers had a 'wonderful' tea party hosted by the store's community champion Angela Mitchell.

Cara Wyatt, Group co-ordinator for Thurrock 10 group of the charity that supports lonely, elderly and vulnerable residents, said: "A huge thank you to all the ladies at Tesco Lakeside for treating our T10 group to a wonderful afternoon. I was a lovely event filled with delicious food, laughter, friendship and fun.

"Our guests had a wonderful time taking part in bingo, enjoying good conversation and spending time together, and everyone left with smiles on their faces and a lovely selection of goodies.

"A heartfelt thank you goes to Angela for organising everything and to Claire for running the bingo so brilliantly. Your hard work, care and attention to detail ensured the event ran so smoothly, and your kindness and generosity truly made the day extra special for everyone.

"It was also lovely to welcome a few guests from T5 and T6 to join us for the afternoon. Thank you Paula for also helping with the afternoon and supporting the event so kindly.

"A very special thank you to our volunteer drivers, Helen and Wendy, for taking control and making sure everyone arrived safely. Thank you also to Carol for stepping in to help with the driving, your support was so appreciated.

Regional co-ordinator of the Thurrock branch, Loraine Coleman, added: "A very big thank you to Angela and her wonderful team. The photographs say it all – so much happiness, laughter and friendship, with everyone enjoying a delicious afternoon tea.

"Angela has been hosting these amazing tea parties for Re-engage Thurrock for nearly 10 years. She is loved by both our guests and volunteers for the care, kindness and enthusiasm she puts into every event, always making each tea party so memorable and special.
