TILBURY'S new town policing team has told how it acted to stop two young boys being a nuisance in the town's centre yesterday (Sunday, 1 March).

Last night they took to social media with the following post: "This evening, your Tilbury Town Centre Team stopped two young boys riding a pit bike in and round the town.

"They were subsequently taken home, where their parents were so unimpressed with their behaviour and Section 59 notice, the bike is now up for sale!

"Intervention at its best."

The new Tilbury town centre team began patrolling on 30 January. Together with a new team in Purfleet it adds to the teams covering Grays, Stanford-le-Hope and South Ockendon.

The team of two officers is being funded by Thurrock Council.
