A THURROCK woman has been hailed as a community hero.

Tracy Townsend is a controller for Ensign Bus and she has been selected as a star in the local community as part of a 'Random Acts of Kindness' campaign by Tarnya Bennett, the community champion at the Morrison store in Grays. Tarnya presented Tracy with a gift from the store.

Tarnya says: "I've actually been trying to get over to see Tracy since before Christmas to thank her for everything she does. February 17th is 'Random Act Of Kindness Day' so I decided to kick off the proceedings a little early and let Tracy know that we all think she's wonderful.

"I will be carrying out a further 100 acts of kindness tomorrow (Wednesday, 17 February) in and around the store."

Appreciation of Tracy was shared by Ensign Bus who took to social media to say: "Congratulations to our controller Tracy who has been recognised her for all her hard work serving the community in all weathers."
