Travel disruption forecast by high winds later in the week

By Neil Speight 8th Mar 2021

THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the whole of England, with heavy winds and rain forecast from Wednesday. It is likely there will be problems at Thurrock's QEII bridge.

Yellow warnings are issued when it is likely the weather will cause some low level impacts, including some disruption to travel.

The severity of the winds coming to the UK from the west after an Atlantic storm is such that the service is predicting there will be problems for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

It is expected in Thurrock that the QEII bridge at Dartford will be closed at some point and it is likely the Tilbury to Dartford ferry will be suspended.

Thurrock Nub News will keep you up to date as the storms makes landfall and alert you to any closures.

Some short term loss of power and other services is possible says the Met Office.
