TWO teaching assistants at Treetops School in Grays are planning to walk a total of 100 km to raise funds for a dementia charity.

The marathon effort is being undertaken by Helen Taylor and Kay Griffin who will complete the trek in individual stages throughout March.

They will be accompanied on the walk by their pets – Helen's Labrador Olly and Kay's Yorkie Frankie.

Helen is being inspired to complete the walk for the Dementia UK charity because her 97 year-old father suffers from dementia. He lives in a care home in Dagenham and because of Covid restrictions Helen, from Grays, has not seen him for a year.

If you would like to help Helen and Kay, from Corringham, smash their target of £400 to complete the walk you can make a donation via their fundraising page here.
