Two arrested in Grays after hammer threat

TWO men have been arrested after a man was threatened with a hammer during an incident in Grays this morning (Saturday, 20 June).

It happened shortly after 8am. Police were alerted after the victim was threatened as he rode his bike in Churchill Road, Grays. He was unhurt.

Officers carried out a search and quickly found and arrested two men on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

The pair, aged 28 and 29 and from Tilbury, remain in custody for questioning.

Witnesses are asked to contact Grays local policing team on 101 quoting incident 289 of today's date.
