TWO men have been arrested in connection with a dramatic late night incident in Grays last month in which a number of cars were wrecked and a house was damaged.

The incident was played out on the evening of Sunday, 17 May in Lodge lane in Grays when a car smashed into other vehicles and damaged the front of a house on Lodge Lane.

The drama happened at around 11pm when residents nearby heard the loud screeching of brakes and then a large bang as a silver Lexus vehicle smashed into others parked outside two semi-detached homes on Lodge Lane.

In the immediate aftermath police said: "We believe shortly before the collision a man had met with the occupants of a silver Lexus and a struggle ensured. The man threatened those in the car with a weapon before stealing a quantity of cash.

"He then left the scene in another vehicle. We are treating this a targeted incident."

Yesterday (Sunday, 31 May) two men were arrested in connection with the incident. A 24-year-old from Kempston in Bedfordshire and 23-year-old from Bedford were remain in custody for questioning on suspicion of robbery.
