THE fundraising exploits of a Thurrock teacher have once again surpassed expectations and resulted in an impressive donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Last week Nub News reported on a planned wing walk by Veronique Surry-Kaise, which she has now completed, raising almost double her £300 fundraising target.

Noted local cyclist Veronique, who has previously completed a triathlon and other events for charities, cycled to her date with a plane accompanied by other members of the Viking Avoidance Cycling Club - based in Stanford-le-Hope.

She says: "Thanks to James Mason, who is in charge of the club, and few other riders for riding there with me showing our support to one of our teammates Andy Tomkins who is fighting cancer right now.

"And a huge thank you to everyone who donated, some who already donated to my previous charity challenges. And thank you to the people who came to watch and support too on the day."

You can still donate to Veronique#;s wing-walking fundraiser via this link.
