Vintage times ahead for Wendy & Co

By Nub News Reporter 18th Jul 2024

A CELEBRATION party marked the first anniversary of a Thurrock business - and its owners took advantage of the ocassion to anbnounce their next community-based venture.

A year ago Wendy and Ian Mills launched the Propersnax sandwich and food takeaway on the Broadway in Grays and today (Thursday, 18 July) held a celebration event with friends and local resdients taking part in the celebrations with a buffet and music. Local charity-supporting bike riders also popped in to join in the fun.

Getting ready to party

It's been a year to remember for Wendy, who had proved to be a popular member of the local business community, supporting local good causes. For example at last Easter they brought the Easter Bunny along to the shop and invited local children for food and fun.

Speaking at the event today Wendy announced the next venture. Ian and Wendy have taken over a premises in nearby William Street and are converting it to a vintage tea room, which they hope will also act as a community hub and a place where older people in the area will feel safe and welcomed.
