VJ Heroes remembered

HEROES of the Second World War campaign in Burma and the far east will be remembered in Thurrock on Saturday (15 August).

The Rose Garden at Wingfield Drive, Orsett, RM16 3HE, in the ceremonial county of EssexOrsett will host a service to mark the 81st anniversary of VJ Day.

Historically the event was hosted by the local Burma Star Association and members of the Far East Veterans Association, but now organisation of the event is undertaken by Thurrock Council and Thurrock CVS.

Saturday's service will start at 11am
