AMONG those honoured at the recent Thurrock CVS awards event in Grays was Lesley Robinson, who is a long time supporter of the Thurrock100 project (T100)

The project was founded in 2015 and runs a programme of walks and community-led activities devised by local groups.

The centrepiece is an annual three week festival in towns and villages across Thurrock each summer, with a series of walks connecting all the events together.

During Volunteer Week, earlier this month, Thurrock CVS held its first volunteer awards, and Lesley won the award for volunteering in the Arts and Culture sector.

Lesley, who is a key part of the flag-making process associated with T100, has been a core member of the T100 volunteer team for many years, you may have met her leading a walk, supporting young ambassadors, sharing the inspiration for her natural dye creative practice or being a friendly face at one of the various events.
