Update at 9pm.

Complete road closure implemented. Congestion expected in morning! No official word yet from water company or council.

ENGINEERS from Essex and Suffolk Water are dealing with a burst water main on Brentwood Road, Chadwell.

The leak was discovered earlier today (Sunday, 28 June).

The work is being carried out with traffic lights managing traffic to ensure safety.

There is no date or time set for conclusion of the work, though an engineer on site said: "We'll be here until it's done but we still have some investigative work to do."
