WEST Ham United fans across the region have been posting messages of support, prayers and hope this afternoon (Saturday, 7 December) after it was reported the club's striker Antonio has been seriously injured in a car crash.

It has been reported he has been airlifted to hospital after his sports car was involved in a crash near Epping.

A first statement from the club said: West Ham United can confirm striker Michail Antonio has today been involved in a road traffic accident.

"The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Michail, his family and friends at this time."

Later, the club issued a second statement, saying: "Michail is conscious and communicating, and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital."
