We kick off this weekend preview with news of an event for youngsters that takes place at the Purfleet-on-Thames Hub on River Court.

It features storytelling, nursery rhymes and arts & crafts.

Learn more via this link about the event that runs from 10.30 to 11.30am.

There's a range of differing musical events on Friday evening, raging from an Elvis Tribute at the Orsett Hall Hotel; a night of Disco Funk and Soul at the Old Regent Ballroom in Stanford-le-Hope where 'The Groove Nation' will be celebrated and the Double Barrel Reggae and Ska Band bringing its distinctive sound to the Wyldecrest Country Club.

There's also a celebration of fine eating at Chafford Hundred's popular 'take your own drink' Kushi restaurant on both Friday and Saturday as it enters its second decade of serving Thurrock customers.

Saturday brings questions and answers at Thurrock Yacht Club in Grays, where a fundraising quiz for the RNLI will be taking place.

And laughter is planned for Saturday evening at Grays' Thameside Theatre where 'Going out with Ross and John' is set to be a riotous night.

Among events on Sunday is another quiz – this time at Stifford Clays Club and it's a fundraiser for the Ellis Appeal.
