Rehearsals are now complete and the clock is in the last throes of ticking towards curtain up for Thurrock Court Players' latest presentation, 'Blithe Spirit', which begins at the Thameside Theatre this evening (Thursday, 26 September).

The production runs for three performances, continuing tomorrow and Saturday, each starting at 7.45pm.

Blithe Spirit is a comic play by Noel Coward, described by the author as 'an improbable farce in three acts'.

The play concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomime, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a seance, hoping to gather material for his next book.

The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his wilful and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after a seance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles' marriage to his second wife, Ruth who cannot see or hear the ghost.

You can still book tickets, either online using this link or by calling the box office on 0345 300 5264 between midday and 3pm and Saturday 10am to 1pm.
