Woman charged with persistent shoplifting offences

THURROCK local policing team officers recently arrested a woman for a series of shoplifting incidents across the borough.

The 31-year-old was reported to have stolen more than £900 worth of items from numerous stores between December and March.

The thefts occurred at Co-op, Tesco, Farmfoods, B&M and Morrisons outlets and a BP service station on the A13.

Officers located and arrested the woman in Cresthill Avenue, Grays, before she was taken into custody.

She was later charged with 12 shoplifting offences and seven breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order and remanded in custody.
