POLICE have now released some details about an operation last month that led to the discovery of a cannabis-growing operation.

A number of police vehicles and several trucks from utilities companies attended properties on the old A13 (Stanford Road) near the junction with Rectory Road in an early morning operation.

Thurrock Nub News understands that a growing operation was discovered and the utility companies were there because its operators had tapped into power supplies to nearby street lighting.

Engineers worked throughout the day to make the site safe.

A statement from Essex Police says: "At about 7am on Saturday 16 September, our officers executed a warrant at an address in Stanford Road.

"Our officers arrested a woman in her 30s on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.

"She was released on bail until 1 July 2024."
