FIREFIGHTERS were deployed to help ambulance service colleagues reach a woman injured in an incident in South Ockendon last evening (Friday, 10 June).

The alarm was raised around 8.30pm when emergency services were first called.

Fire crews were among those alerted and arrived in Cranell Green to help rescue a female who had fallen from a tree into dense undergrowth to the rear of properties which was difficult to access.

She was on land adjacent to the Mardyke Wood play area and after firefighters were able reach and rescue her she was left in the care of the ambulance service.
