POLICE have confirmed some details of an incident that happened at a home on Balmoral Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope early last evening which drew a significant police presence initially and officers from the East of England ambulance Service.

Police cars arrived at the scene around 4pm yesterday (Monday, 15 December) and remained at the house overnight.

A police statement issued this afternoon says: " We were called to Balmoral Avenue following concerns for the welfare of a woman.

"Sadly, she was found deceased. Her death is being treated as unexpected and is being investigated."

Police have confirmed a man is helping them with their inquiries into the incident. More information is expected to be released at a later date.
