A THURROCK-based homeless charity has benefited from the generosity and support of county-wide youner Freemasons.
The Essex Cornerstone Foundation, a charity run by younger members of Essex Freemasons (all under 40), has delivered 250 essential homeless packs to Friends of Essex and London Homeless, continuing its mission to support vulnerable people across the county.
Paul Williams, Chairman of the Essex Cornerstone Club, visited the charity's outreach stall in Grays to meet volunteers, see the impact of the donations first-hand, and view the new van purchased by Essex Freemasons as part of their 250th anniversary celebrations.
The vehicle will allow the charity to reach even more people in need across Essex and London.
Each pack includes practical items such as toothbrushes, soap, socks, and ponchos; small essentials that offer immediate comfort and dignity to those sleeping rough.
"This is about more than providing items; it's about showing people that they haven't been forgotten," said Paul Williams. "The dedication of Friends of Essex and London Homeless is inspiring, and we're proud to stand alongside them through the Foundation's ongoing support for homeless outreach."
Tackling homelessness is one of the Foundation's key priorities, with 1,000 packs pledged to local charities and community groups across Essex.
Friends of Essex and London Homeless, a volunteer-led organisation, provides hot food, clothing, and essential supplies to those living on the streets, with regular outreach sessions in Grays and surrounding areas, including London.
"The continued support from the Essex Cornerstone Foundation and Essex Freemasons makes a real difference," said Steve Stuart from the charity. "The packs and the new van are helping us reach more people than ever before."
