A THURROCK woman has bravely spoken up and take a leading role in promoting a new service for people feeling lonely and isolated after having suffered a stroke.

Jade Apperley was the victim of a stroke when she was just 21 in 2015. Five years on she is telling of her experience as part of the Stroke Association's new 'Here For You' telephone service campaign.

FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a field blaze close to a Thurrock housing estate this evening.

The alert was raised just after 9.30pm and crews rushed to the scene on land adjacent to the Dock Approach Road in Little Thurrock, off Wood View and close to the new housing estate on the former college campus at Woodside.

A LONG-awaited serious case review into the death of a Thurrock toddler and the care offered by Thurrock Council Children's Social Services to her, her brother and family has revealed a series of significant failings by the authority.

Though the report stops short of allocating responsibility for her death – the report damns much of what happened leading up to it and clearly says the council could – and should have – done much better.

AFTER an evening of public disorder in Tilbury, police have responded by putting a dispersal order in place tonight (Wednesday 29 July).

The decision came after reports of a large group of people acting anti-socially and causing criminal damage. The alarm was raised about 9pm following a disturbance in a car park in Lansdowne Road and information that some vehicles may have been damaged.

DETECTIVES have released images of three men wanted in connection with the murder of Grays man Robert Powell.

Nana Oppong, 40, from Stratford, Israar Shah, 36, from Brentwood and Temitope Adeyinka, also 36 and from Stratford, are believed to have been involved in the death of 50-year-old Robert, who was shot multiple times outside an address on Water Lane in Roydon during the early hours of Saturday 13 June.

All of the homes have now sold at Devonshire Place in Grays

THE last house on a new estate in Grays had now been sold with its builders claiming completion of a 'vibrant, new community'.

All 102 homes at Bellway's Devonshire Place on Devonshire Road are sold now, with most already occupied and the final few to follow in the coming months as construction work is completed.
